Edmonson" <edmoblues@comcast.net> Hey All, Just a note to say that I may be out of touch (more so than usual) for a few months. The Jackie Payne Steve Edmonson Band just took a three-month gig on a tiny island in Thailand. We will be leaving on 1/29, and returning on 5/1. I have heard that there is an internet cafe on the island, so I may be able to keep in touch. I won't really know until I get there. So far, I have found elephant trekking, snake charming, a water buffalo fighting arena, an automatic weapons firing range, a cock fighting arena and a bordello, all within walking distance of the club. What more could one ask for...Doh! It looks like it's going to be quite a year for travel for us. There are plans in the works so far, for trips to England, France, Turkey, Russia, Greece and Canada, as well as 11 festivals in the US and a second trip to Thailand later in the year, (phew!). I will try to get everything on the website calendar ASAP. In the meantime, I will, of course, try to keep everyone posted on the thriving jungle island blues scene. For our SF Bay Area friends, we are having a going away party at The Ivy Room in Albany, CA, on Friday, the 28th, the night before we leave. Come out and wish us a Bon Voyage!
