Cas Lucas

Cas Lucas is busting into the San Francisco blues scene with gigs at the Mission District's Voodoo Lounge and SoMa's venerable Hotel Utah, among others. For Florida-born Cas, "picking up the slide was a musical rebirth." He's eager to please, wants you to come see him.

He's got a new blues trio...

"Combining the traditional delta roots of Johnson and House with modern influences, Lucas's brand of blues is a hybrid of delta, funk, rock, and soul music. Performing traditionals, original blues, and slide guitar adaptations of songs by a diverse selection of modern artists such as Paul Simon, Otis Redding, Jimi Hendrix, and Sting, Lucas brings a lot to the table in his solo performances."

Lessons Available...
Delta blues slide and acoustic blues

"Learn to play classic tunes by the likes or Robert Johnson and Son House, and modern riffs from players like Ben Harper, Kelly Joe Phelps, John Mooney, and Bonnie Raitt," says Cas. "My lessons are fun, and entirely riff and feel based. No knowledge of theory is required. My studio is in Berkeley and I do house calls all around the Bay Area."
